1. Lice and nits – tiny, brown-black, wingless insects or parasites that live on humans blood. A nit or lisa is a louse egg.
2. Lice glue their eggs on hair.
3. The spread of lice is closely associated with crowded, unsanitary conditions.
4. The uncomfortable itching caused by its bites, may cause typhus, fever and skin infection.

Prevention or treatment:

1. Hygiene
2. Avoid sharing your personal items to others especially hats, combs, hair ties and clips.
3.Anti-lice shampoo (available in drugstores).
4. Wash the hair with vinegar mixed with water.
5. Use fine-toothed comb (suyod) often or at least 3x a day.
6. Apply coconut oil or olive oil to hair and scalp and leave on overnight. These oils have antibiotic properties.
